The National Guard Educational Foundation, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the telling of the National Guard rich heritage and the continuing contributions of the National Guard of the United States. One of the main vehicles for this mission is the National Guard Museum in Downtown Washington DC. The NGEF relies solely on charitable contributions for its funding.
As you can imagine fundraising is an important part of the NGEF activities. This year the staff of the NGEF had a fund raising idea to run the Army 10-miler as a team to raise awareness about NGEF and to raise funds for the museum. They challenged each team member to raise as much as possible and then used the Contensive Donation Thermometer add-on to show the world where each team member was with respect to their goal.
The add-on lets the user sponsor a specific runner or runners with their donation. The add-on tracks each donation made who made it and then displays the “standings ” for the world to see. Because this is an Add-on they can use it next year or for another event if they want.
“The form was clear, concise and attractive and allowed our runners to easily solicit charitable donations from their friends, families, and colleagues to benefit the National Guard Educational Foundation (NGEF). The fundraiser was a success.”, says Luke Guthrie of NGEF
Nothing like a little friendly competition to motivate the staff to go out and solicit those sponsorship dollars!
